40-year-old man charged with murder of Stephen Davidson

Davidson was found dead at his home in Bangor last weekend.

A 40-YEAR-OLD man arrested on Monday has today been charged with the murder of 31-year old Stephen Davidson in Bangor last weekend.

He will appear before a special sitting of Newtownards Magistrates’ Court at 4pm this afternoon. On Monday police said they were investigating the death of the man following a “violent struggle”.

Two people, a 30 female and a 40 year old male, were arrested shortly after 1pm on Monday.

It is believed Davidson lived alone in the house where he was killed and police said they could not say if he let his attackers into the house and that they were not in a position to say if drugs were involved.

The 40-year-old man charged with Davidson’s murder also faces charges in relation to drugs possession and a threat to commit arson last Saturday.
