1. #MURDERS: PSNI detectives have appealed for information about the ‘cold-blooded and callous murder’ of 46-year-old father Kevin Kearney in Belfast.

2. #WOMEN IN THE HOME: Justice Minister Alan Shatter has ruled out having a referendum on the ‘women in the home’ reference in the Constitution until ‘extensive consultations’ take place over the next 12 months.

4. #DEATH: Rapist and kidnapper Ariel Castro may have died from auto-erotic asphyxiation, not suicide, according to a report from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

5. #NEW SMARTS: Two new iPhones – the 5S and the 5C – will be available in Ireland from 25 October.
