2. #SEXUAL ASSAULT: The Taoiseach has extended his sympathy to the victims of an ‘appalling’ sexual assault in Athlone at the weekend.
Earlier today, a man was charged with the rape of two young girls.
3. #ABUSE: The Children’s Ombudsman upheld a complaint made against the HSE by the family of a girl who had been sexually abused. According to Emily Logan’s office the HSE’s actions ‘negatively affected the child’.
4. #COURTS: A member of An Garda Síochána who has been accused of possessing more than 650 images of child sexual abuse will not have his identity protected in court. [RTÉ News]
5. #ORGAN DONATION: An Oireachtas committee has recommended that Ireland should adopt a soft opt-out system for organ donation in the hope it would change public attitudes and increase rates of donation.
