83-year-old man killed after car strikes pole

The man died when the car he was driving left the road and hit a pole on New Street in Killaloe, Co Clare.

AN 83-YEAR-OLD MAN has been killed after a motor accident in Killaloe, Co Clare.

The accident happened at around 9:30am this morning when the man’s car left the road on New Street and collided with a pole.

He died at the scene and has since been removed to Limerick Regional Hospital.

The road has been closed pending a Garda forensic examination, and local traffic diversions are in place.
