Death of Khamenei

1. Iranian state TV confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei overnight, with the regime unleashing a fresh series of attacks on US and Israeli targets in the region in the early hours of the morning.

Strike on school

2. The Iranian Red Crescent has said the death toll from a strike on a school in southern Iran has risen to 108, following the wave of attacks launched by the United States and Israel yesterday.

Shelter in place

3. Irish citizens in the Gulf and wider Middle East have been advised to shelter in place. “You should follow the directions of the local authorities and advice issued on social media by the Irish Embassy to your country of residence,” Foreign Affairs Minister Helen McEntee said.

Israel attacks

4. The Israeli military said this morning that it had begun striking targets deep inside Tehran.

Wexford evictions

5. More than 30 households in a Co Wexford estate are facing eviction after being served notices by their shared landlord, just days before new rental rules introduced by the Government come into effect.

6. New local safety committees convened by councils to replace the old Joint Policing Committees will largely be held behind closed doors in many areas of the country.
