GARDAÍ IN LOUTH are investigating an alleged abduction after a man was bundled into the back of another car and taken away.
The incident happened yesterday afternoon at about 5.30pm on the N33 Ardee Link Road and was reported to gardaí by a number of people who called 999.
Gardaí say that one man was driving a silver Mercedes car towards the M1 when it was struck from behind by another car, a grey Toyota Avensis.
Witnesses say that three men from the Avensis then forcibly removed the other driver from the Mercedes and put him in their car.
The Toyota Avensis was then driven away in the direction of the motorway.
The injured man was released a short time later and gardaí say that he did not require any medical attention.
An garda investigation has been launched and anyone who was on the Ardee Link Road or on the M1 at around 6pm yesterday and saw anything suspicious is being asked to contact them.
Gardaí in Ardeen are leading the investigation and can be reached at 041-6853222.
