Woman dead and man hospitalised following afternoon road crash in Donegal

The road in Tullynaglaggin will remain closed into tomorrow as gardaí investigate the collision.

A WOMAN IN her 80s has died following a single-vehicle collision near Cill Riáin, Co Donegal, this afternoon.

The crash happened on the R262 at Tullynaglaggin at around 3.50pm.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and her body has since been removed.

A man, also in his 80s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to be treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The road remains closed and is expected to stay shut overnight and into tomorrow as gardaí carry out a technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area between 3.30pm and 4.00pm, to contact Ballyshannon Garda Station on 071 985 8530, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
