AIB chief warns restructuring will bring lay-offs

Bank’s chief executive told staff today that bank would prefer voluntary redundancies.

AIB IS EXPECTING TO CUT some of its workforce as part of the bank’s restructuring plans, according to its chief executive David Hodgkinson.

In an email to staff, Hodgkinson said job losses would be phased across AIB, RTÉ reports.

Although the bank is currently in the process of appointing people to management roles, Hodgkinson said AIB would prefer if lay-offs resulting from its restructuring were voluntary.
