Sheriff’s deputies arrested the 49-year-old after the loaded gun was found in his backpack.

AUTHORITIES IN California say a man was arrested at Sacramento International Airport after security officers found a loaded handgun and several rounds of ammunition in his backpack.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s department says deputies arrested 49-year-old Tam Nguyen yesterday afternoon, after security officers found a firearm and ammunition at the bottom of the backpack.

The Sacramento Bee reports that Nguyen was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of unlawful possession of a loaded, concealed firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held on $60,000 bail (€42,000) and is expected to be arraigned this week.
