THE ÁRAS HOPEFULS have just taken in the second debate of the presidential election – and it’s safe to say it was much livelier than the first one.

Fianna Fáil’s Jim Gavin, Fine Gael’s Heather Humphreys and Independent Catherine Connolly faced off on RTÉ’s The Week in Politics, where they took tough questions over 50 minutes from Áine Lawlor about Northern Ireland, neutrality and housing.

They were also questioned about individual issues that have dogged them this week.
