GARDAÍ IN TALLAGHT have arrested a man following a cash-in-transit robbery that occurred yesterday afternoon.

Three men escaped with a sum of cash after the raid which happened on the Old Bawn Road at around 1.15pm.

A security worker had been in the process of transporting cash when he was intercepted by two men; one armed with a sawn-off shot-gun and the second with another weapon.

The third man waited in their escape car – a silver Toyota Avensis which was later found burnt-out.

In a follow-up operation last night, gardaí searched a house and arrested a man in his early 20s. He is currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station.
