Luas passengers hospitalised after early morning crash with truck
Services have been disrupted this morning.
A TRUCK AND Luas have crashed this morning in Tallaght resulting in two passengers being brought to hospital and a suspension of some Red Line services.
The Luas is not running between Saggart and Belgard following the incident at Cheeverstown.
All services between Tallaght and The Point are running as usual.
AA Roadwatch also tweeted: “Following an incident involving a Luas and a truck, the Red Line is not running between Saggart and Belgard and will only operate between Tallaght and the Point.”
A garda spokesman said: “There was a collision on the Luas line at Cheeverstown between a truck and the Luas. One person on the Luas was injured and was taken to Tallaght Hospital where their injuries are not believed to be serious.
“The Luas line between Saggart and Belgard is currently closed. There are diversions at the junction of Cheeverstown Rd and Catherine Tynan Rd. The collision occurred between 6-6.30am.”
