Cad iad na dúshláin is mó roimh Choláiste Chorca Dhuibhne agus é ag cur cúrsaí samhraí ar fáil?

Tá éileamh mór ar chúrsaí i gColáiste Chorca Dhuibhe, ach níl na leapacha ag an gcoláiste chun spásanna a thabhairt do scoláirí.

BAINEANN GO LEOR buntáistí le coláistí samhraí do dhaoine óga agus don phobal áitiúil araon.

Ach tá dúshláin ann do na coláistí samhraí. Do Choláiste Chorca Dhuibhne go háirithe, tá éileamh mór ar chúrsaí ach níl na leapacha ag an gcoláiste chun spásanna a thabhairt do scoláirí.

Cé go mbíonn cúig chúrsa ar siúl gach bliain, tá liosta feithimh le breis is 1,000 dálta ag fanacht ar spás.

Tá ceithre theach nua á thógáil ag an gComharchumann i gCorca Dhuibhe a bheadh réidh i 2027.

Chomh maith le tithíocht a chur ar fáil do theaghlaigh ón gceantar áitiúil, beidh spás idir an ceithre theach chun 48 go 64 mac léinn a choimeád i rith na gcúrsaí samhraí.

Tá súil ag Páidí Ó Sé go bhfreastalóidh na tithe seo ar an éileamh atá ann do spásanna ar chúrsaí Gaeltachta sa samhradh.

SUMMER COURSES IN the Gaeltacht have many benefits for both young people who attend the course and the local communities..

But there are challenges for summer colleges. For Coláiste Chorca Dhuibhne in particular, there is a high demand for courses but the college does not have the beds to accommodate those looking for a place.

Although five courses run each year, there is a waiting list of over one thousand students.

Comharchumann Chorca Dhuibhne is building four new houses i mBaile an Fheirtéaraigh, which should be ready in 2027.

As well as housing families from the locality, there will also be enough room to house between 48 and 64 more students for the summer courses.

Páidí Ó Sé hopes that these houses will meet the demand for places on Gaeltacht courses in the summer.
