Ashley Judd pressing charges against Twitter users for abusive comments

The actress was tweeting about her favourite basketball team when it happened.

ACTRESS ASHLEY JUDD says she is to press charges against some Twitter users over abusive tweets.

The activist received the responses when tweeting about March Madness, the basketball tournament, yesterday.

Judd is a supporter of the University of Kentucky Wildcats, and celebrated their game on Twitter. But some of her tweets received abusive responses.

Afterwards, she was on MSNBC to talk about bracketology, and spoke about the tweets. She said that for tweeting that the Arkansas team was ‘playing dirty’, she was called a c-word and a ‘whore’.

“The way things happen on social media is so abusive, and everyone needs to take personal responsibility for what they write and not allowing this misinterpretation and shaming culture on social media to persist.

And by the way, I’m pressing charges.

She didn’t give any further details, but has furthered the discussion about harassment on Twitter through engaging with her fans:
