Gardaí appeal for witnesses after man (20s) seriously injured in Tipperary assault

The incident occurred shortly after 1.40am on Abbey Street and Barrack Street, Cahir, Co Tipperary.

GARDAÍ HAVE APPEALED for witnesses after a man was injured in a serious assault in Tipperary in the early hours of this morning.

The incident occurred shortly after 1.40am on Abbey Street and Barrack Street, Cahir, Co Tipperary.

A man (20s) was treated by emergency services and taken to Tipperary University Hospital for treatment for serious injuries. He remains in hospital in a critical condition.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of Abbey Street and Barrack Street, Cahir between 1:15am and 2:00am on Saturday 20th December and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
