AFTER THREE PEOPLE were assaulted on or near Grafton St in Dublin overnight, gardaí say they have arrested a man as part of their investigation.

Gardaí investigating the serious assaults arrested the man in the Pearse Street area of Dublin today.

At approximately 1am this morning, a 31-year-old man was discovered with stab wounds on Grafton Street, and was taken by ambulance to St James’s Hospital with serious injuries.

Gardaí then received a report of a second stabbing incident and assault on Chatham Row, which is just off Grafton St. A second man (35) was stabbed and a 22-year-old female was assaulted. These victims were removed to St James’s Hospital and are being treated for their injuries, said gardaí.

In a follow-up search of the area, a 25-year-old man was arrested. He is currently detained at Pearse Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

A number of scenes are preserved.
