Man (25) arrested after three assaulted overnight

One person was stabbed on Grafton St, while two others were assaulted on Chatham Row in Dublin city centre.

AFTER THREE PEOPLE were assaulted on or near Grafton St in Dublin overnight, gardaí say they have arrested a man as part of their investigation.

Gardaí investigating the serious assaults arrested the man in the Pearse Street area of Dublin today.

At approximately 1am this morning, a 31-year-old man was discovered with stab wounds on Grafton Street, and was taken by ambulance to St James’s Hospital with serious injuries.

Gardaí then received a report of a second stabbing incident and assault on Chatham Row, which is just off Grafton St. A second man (35) was stabbed and a 22-year-old female was assaulted. These victims were removed to St James’s Hospital and are being treated for their injuries, said gardaí.

In a follow-up search of the area, a 25-year-old man was arrested. He is currently detained at Pearse Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
