Babestation TV models are coming to Mayo (but the minister won't be meeting them)

A spokesperson for the minister said he will “absolutely not” attend a meeting.

REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT MINISTER Michael Ring will not be meeting with models from Babestation TV despite an invitation from the company.

Three models as well as company representative Steve Richardson will travel to Westport on Thursday to ease concern from locals who mistakenly received calls intended for the adult chat line.

The mix-up happened when Irish viewers didn’t enter the UK international calling code before dialling and were instead directed to people in Westport.

Mayo minister Ring had previously said that many people living in the town had been contacted, but a spokesperson for the TD said today that he will “absolutely not” be attending the planned outreach event.

Speaking on The Ryan Tubridy Show on RTÉ One this morning, Babestation TV’s Richardson said they are “very tame” and are a “responsible company”.

He told the show that he hopes to show the Mayo locals this in person.

“Babestation is not hardcore pornography and I think I’ve heard it best described by someone as the Benny Hill of adult entertainment,” he said.

We’re hoping to bring three of the girls over  and you know what? We’re very proud of this, that they’re incredibly bright. They know what they’re doing. If anything, they are the queens and we are their servants.

Richardson said they are flying into Knock tomorrow morning and will be in the town at 2pm.

As well as meeting with locals, Richardson said he hopes to meet with the minister so they can discuss how best to ensure that the mix-up doesn’t happen again.

The representative also said they would look at potentially changing their number.
