A PHOTO OF an eight-month-old baby wearing her mother’s police hat has gone viral.
Colorado State Trooper Jaimie Jursevics was killed last week while assisting at the scene of a minor crash. Ir has been alleged that she was hit by a drunk driver.
Jursevics’ colleagues in the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office yesterday shared a photo of her daughter Morgan wearing her hat and surrounded by parts of her uniform.
The picture includes the caption:
“For anyone who is planning on just having a ‘few beers’ and driving home after, look at this little girl. She will grow up without her Mother, Colorado State Patrol Trooper Jamie Jursevics, who was hit by a drunk driver and killed last week. Is it worth it?”
A retired Army captain has been bonded from jail, accused of drinking at a Denver Broncos’ American football game and driving home. Police say that he hit Jursevics along his route and left the scene.
A GoFundMe page set up to assist the Jursevics family has raised over $89,000.
The picture of Morgan has been shared almost 6,500 times on Facebook.
Today, thousands showed up to Jursevics’ funeral in Denver.
