Bad Bunny concert in Milan cancelled after a severe hailstorm causes evacuation of venue

A full refund will be given to ticketholders in the coming days, after it was confirmed the concert would not be rescheduled.

AN OPEN-AIR CONCERT by Puerto Rican music star Bad Bunny was cancelled in Milan on Saturday due to a violent hailstorm.

Video images posted on social media show large hailstones hitting concertgoers, along with strong winds and heavy rain.

The storm began shortly after the singer began his set at Milan’s Snai La Maura Hippodrome, which has a capacity of 80,000 people.

Live Nation, the organisers of the event, have said that all tickets will be reimbursed.

In a statement posted on its website, Live Nation wrote: “Due to adverse weather conditions, including thunderstorms and hail, Bad Bunny’s concert scheduled for 18 July at the SNAI La Maura Hippodrome in Milan was interrupted, and the area was safely evacuated.”

“Following careful assessment and every effort to reschedule the event, we regret to inform ticket holders that the concert has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.”

The statement added that “the safety of everyone in attendance is always our top priority” and thanked spectators for their patience, understanding and cooperation throughout the evacuation.

Ticket holders will be issued a full refund plus the 15% ticket booking fee, the statement concluded.
