A 36-YEAR-OLD man has drowned in a Galway lake.
The man, who is originally from Lithuania, went swimming in Ballyquirke Lake in Moycullen, Co. Galway yesterday evening.
A garda source told TheJournal.ie the man was taken from the water at around 6.40pm and was pronounced dead after 9pm at University Hospital Galway.
A post-mortem will be carried out on the body later.
