THE BECKHAM FAMILY has been the focus of online attention this week following a series of Instagram stories from Brooklyn Beckham addressing his strained relationship with his parents.
There had been speculation about tensions between Brooklyn and family members David, Victoria, Cruz and Romeo Beckham since his 2022 marriage to Nicola Peltz Beckham.
In his posts, Brooklyn claimed his parents had “controlled him for most of his life” and accused them of “trying endlessly to ruin my relationship”. He also made allegations relating to his wedding, writing that his mother cancelled plans to make Nicola’s dress shortly before the big day and “hijacked” his first dance.
Addressing rumours surrounding his father’s 50th birthday party last year (which Brooklyn and Nicola did not attend), the 26-year-old claimed that the couple were “rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him [David]”.
The Beckham family has not issued an official response to Brooklyn’s statement. However, during a podcast appearance in Davos yesterday, David said that parents must allow their children to “make mistakes” on social media.
So, we’re asking: What’s your take on the situation?
