It's never been a better time for fans of unusual food combinations The Journal/Ikea

Would you rather try candy floss-flavoured crisps or a meatball-flavoured lollipop?

You have to choose one.

SOME PEOPLE MAY argue that certain food combinations are best left untested, but that has never stopped companies from giving them a go.

If you’ve spotted a baby pink packet of Tayto in shops recently, that’s because the crisp brand has launched a new limited-edition candy floss flavour.

The flavour has been described as tasting like it’s “straight from the funfair” – a sentiment that wasn’t exactly echoed during a taste test in The Journal newsroom. However, one reporter was keen to point out “notes of rosemary”, if that’s your kind of thing.

On a similar and slightly-less-sweet note, Ikea has announced a limited run of lollipops designed to “capture the flavours” of its Swedish meatballs.

Unlike the candy floss Tayto, the lollipops won’t be appearing on supermarket shelves but will instead be handed out in Ikea shops and collection points over the weekend.

Whether you think these combinations sound appealing or not is beside the point – because now they exist.

So, with that in mind, today we’re asking: If you had to choose, which would you rather try?

Poll Results:

Candy floss-flavoured Tayto (1873)
Meatball-flavoured lollipop (403)
Both sound good to me (212)
