REVENUE OFFICERS HAVE seized a large quantity of cannabis in Rosslare port.
The 215kg of herbal cannabis had been hidden in a consignment of frozen meat in an unaccompanied container that arrived from France.
Following routine profiling, the container was selected for scanning and the smuggled drugs were discovered. Investigations are ongoing.
Revenue said the majority of people pay the right amount of tax and duty, but urged members of the public to contact them if they know someone is evading tax or is involved in smuggling.
You can do this using Revenue’s secure online reporting form or by contacting its confidential free phone number 1800 295 295.
