Church paints rainbow over 'Fags Are Pedos' graffiti
“My heart goes out to my LGBT friends … This is just one day in a long journey.”
A GAY-FRIENDLY CHURCH in North Carolina responded in a colourful way when vandals spray-painted ”Fags Are Pedos” [sic] on its front door.
The incident happened at Wedgewood Church in North Carolina after a sign outside the church read ‘LGBT Equality’.
Pastor Chris Ayers told WCNC: “My heart goes out to my LGBT friends … This is just one day in a long journey.”
Members of the congregation have painted a rainbow over the homophobic graffiti.
Kimberlee Walker, a deacon at the church, said: “No amount of spray paint is going to stop us.”
The rainbow will be left as is for now, but the words ‘We forgive you’ may be added as a message to those responsible for the graffiti.
