SEVERAL IRISH STARS have joined big names in backing and promoting a concert hosted tonight by Together for Palestine at Wembley Stadium.
The concert is currently being live-streamed. Musicians and bands including Paul Weller, Damon Albarn, King Krule and Bastille are listed as performers.
In a video released earlier today, Cillian Murphy was among a host of actors, musicians, and singers to verbally back the concert and speak out about Israel’s actions in Gaza. Chris O’Dowd, Sharon Horgan, Caitriona Balfe and Laura Whitmore also featured.
From across the sea, Brian Cox, Malala Yousafzai, Billie Eilish and Finneas, and Joaquin Phoenix were among notable names that contributed to the video.
In an opinion piece published earlier today in The Guardian, English musician and organiser of the charity concert Brian Eno wrote about his inspiration to organise the concert, and how he hopes it will give people the courage to speak out about the horrors occurring in Palestine.
