Do you go to the cinema?

A total of 4.8 billion cinema tickets were sold worldwide last year, according to a spokesperson for the EAO.

GLOBAL CINEMA TICKET sales decreased by nearly 9% in 2024, according to the European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO), as reported by RTÉ.

This marks the first annual decline since 2020, when pandemic restrictions set the industry back by years.

However, the EAO pointed out that Ireland and France stand out for having a high number of cinemas per capita and higher average attendance rates compared to other countries.

So today we’re asking: Do you go to the cinema?
