ONE OF THE former stars of BBC quiz show Eggheads, CJ de Mooi, has been arrested over an allegation of a murder.
Scotland Yard said that de Mooi – whose real name is Joseph Connagh – was arrested at Heathrow Airport today “on a European Arrest Warrant issued in the Netherlands in relation to an allegation of murder”.
Joseph Connagh, 46 (06/11/1969), self employed, of Monmouthshire appears in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 22 September.
It is understood that in de Mooi’s autobiography, he said that he thought he might have killed a man in Amsterdam in 1988.
He described it as an incident he regretted.
