Two youths arrested over Cork assault on pregnant woman

The young woman was punched in the face while walking down the street.

TWO YOUNG MEN have been arrested over an assault on a pregnant woman in Cork last month.

The incident occurred on Princes Street in Cork city on the evening of 29 November. The 25-year-old woman, who is six months pregnant, was approached by three males and punched in the face by one of them.

They ran off and the woman was offered medical assistance at the scene. Today a garda spokesperson said two males in their late teens were arrested in connection with the incident on 10 and 11 of December.

They were questioned at Bridewell garda station and later released without charge. Investigations are continuing.
