Man in court tonight over Waterford crash in which woman died

The man was arrested last night following the crash on the main Waterford to Dungarvan Road.

A MAN IS appearing in court in Waterford tonight charged in connection with a fatal road crash in Waterford in which a woman died last night.

The man in his 40s is before a special sitting of Waterford District Court tonight which is due to get underway at 10pm.

He had been arrested by gardaí investigating the crash last night.

The 45-year-old woman was seriously injured when the car in which she was travelling in collided with a van on the N25 at Ballyduff West on the main Waterford to Dungarvan Road.

She was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was also taken to hospital with injuries that aren’t believed to be life threatening. The van driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
