Had enough of craft beer? Now it's time for craft Pepsi...

Yes, really.

AS IF THE inundation of craft beers wasn’t enough to mess with the delicate sensibilities of the Irish beverage enthusiast, craft Pepsi is now on the way.

According to soft drinks industry publication Beverage Digest the cola giant is to launch the new line of drinks, known as Stubborn Soda, as early as this summer.

Initially, the range of soda will be made for soda dispensers only, with a retail sales launch possibly on the cards a little later, probably in glass bottles.

According to the report the new line could eventually replace PepsiCo’s main brands.

It’s a brave new world.

Craft products are generally marketed for their more exclusive nature. They are commonly made on a smaller scale with less non-natural components.

Stubborn soda will adhere to this by being made with natural flavours and will not contain high fructose corn syrup.

Craft drinks, as any Irish beer enthusiast can attest, are becoming more and more popular as consumers increasingly search for alternatives to sugar-laden carbonated refreshment.
