Cyclist seriously injured in Dublin crash

The 30-year-old man was involved in a collision with a van in Blanchardstown earlier today.

A CYCLIST HAS been seriously injured in a collision in Blanchardstown today.

The crash took place at Ongar Distribution Road in Dublin at 12.15pm between a van and a pedal cyclist. The 30-year-old cyclist was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to James Connolly Memorial Hospital. He was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

The male driver and male passenger of the van were not injured in the collision. Inbound lanes are closed for forensic examination but the outbound side of the road has now been re-opened.

Witnesses to the collision are being asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 6667000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
