“BRING IT ON.”
Those were the words of broadcaster Claire Byrne on last night’s Late Late Show when host Patrick Kielty asked if she thinks RTÉ is worried about the competition her new show with Newstalk will cause.
Byrne, who presented her last show on RTÉ Radio 1 last October, is taking over Pat Kenny’s weekday 9am-12pm slot on Newstalk from next month.
Her departure from the station saw a shake-up of their radio schedule, with David McCullagh now at the mic from 9am-11am and Oliver Callan following from 11am to 1pm.
“The right answer there is to say, ‘the pie is big enough for all of us’, but you know what? I’m going to Newstalk to grow the audience,” Byrne told Kielty, adding that she’s “up for the fight”.
So we want to know if you like to listen to one station over the over, if you like to listen to both, or maybe you don’t turn the radio on in the morning at all.
Today, we’re asking: Do you prefer to listen to RTÉ Radio 1 or Newstalk in the mornings?
