Exclusive Club

This is how much a club sandwich costs at the world's most exclusive schmoozefest

Don’t even start us on the champagne and caviar.

WE ALREADY KNOW about the nosebleed prices for just getting into this week’s World Economic Forum – better known as Davos.

A ticket alone for the globe’s most exclusive schmoozefest, where the 2,500 invite-only guests include world leaders and billionaires, could set you back up to $30,000 (€26,000).

But that’s just the start. What about the costs of those day-to-day necessities, like a sandwich or, say, a pair of Will I Am-style wraparound sunglasses?

Well, TheJournal.ie has the answer to one of those two, important questions – courtesy of Matthew Miller, the managing editor of business news service Bloomberg.

Miller was among the 200-strong press contingent in the Swiss resort town for the event, where he tweeted this club sandwich teaser from the 5-star Belvedere.

Look, it comes with three pieces of bread and even a mouthful of coleslaw on the side. At least Miller didn’t leave his 5,000-odd followers waiting too long.

Half a c-note, or nearly €43 in our money. We hope it was good.
