Three arrested over dissident republican activity

The arrests were made as part of a cross border operation with the police service in Northern Ireland.

THREE PEOPLE WERE arrested this morning as part of a cross border operation to counter dissident republican activity.

Gardaí, in conjunction with the PSNI, undertook an operation in the north Louth/south Armagh area yesterday. They searched a premises in the Kilkurry area of Dundalk at approximately 1am this morning and a 43-year-old man was arrested.

He is currently detained at Drogheda Garda Station.

In south Armagh, a 19-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were arrested by the PSNI and remain in custody in Antrim Serious Crime Suite.

Searches by gardaí and the PSNI in the area are ongoing.
