LOOKING FOR A small car with bold styling, a roomy cabin and comfortable ride? Then this Toyota Aygo for €11,950 may be the car for you.

The Aygo is a bold-looking small hatchback that is perfect for urban driving, thanks to its light steering and ability to absorb bumps without any fuss.

This version is finished in a lovely Dark Blue Twinkle paint and sits on 15-inch six-double-spoke silver alloy wheels.

It comes in X-play trim and it has loads of features including projector halogen headlamps, front fog lamps, electric door mirrors and body-coloured door handles.

The cabin is quite roomy and will comfortable transport four adults. It is funky and bright, too. The seats are covered in a dark grey fabric with grey and white bolsters and there are shiny silver air vent surrounds and gear shift surround, as well as a three-spoke leather steering wheel and leather gearshift knob.

It is powered by a 69hp 1.0-litre VVT-i petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It falls into band A2 and is €180 to tax a year. The engine is refined and has enough power for this light car to easily zip around the city. It is a cracking little car.

The Corolla is a firm favourite with Irish motorists. It is a very comfortable car and it is mighty reliable too. It is also well made, spacious and quite handsome.

Some of its features include a chrome upper front grille with chrome insert, body-coloured bumpers, mirrors and door handles, electric mirrors with integrated turning signal and LED daytime running lights.

This version comes with 10,533km on the clock and is powered by a start/stop 90hp 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Like the Aygo it is just €180 a year to tax.

So, if you are looking for a city car that is fun to look at as well as fun to drive then the Toyota Aygo may be the car for you. If you need a more practical and spacious family motor that is comfortable and reliable, then the Toyota Corolla should be on your consideration list.
