Ammunition and drugs worth €700,000 found in garda search

Three men have been charged in connection with the seizure and appeared before the Criminal Court today.

GARDAÍ FROM THE National Drugs Unit have recovered 35 kilos of herbal cannabis with an approx street value of €700,000 in seizures in Templeogue and City West in Dublin.

As part of an intelligence led operation, Gardaí stopped a van in Templeogue shortly after 11am yesterday. During the course of the search Gardaí discovered 21 kilos of herbal cannabis and arrested a 42-year-old man who was detained at Rathfarnham Garda station.

During a follow up search Gardaí searched an apartment at Swiftbrook, City West and discovered 14 Kilos of herbal cannabis and ammunition. Three men, two aged 37 and one 31-years-old, were also arrested and detained in connection with the seizure.

Today three of the men were charged in connection with the seizure and appeared in the Court of Criminal Justice Parkgate Street at 4pm. The other male was released without charge.
