Arrests after drugs seized in Dublin

Gardaí discovered 10 kilos of the drug MEC (Methylethcathinone) with a street value of €350,000 at Slaney House in Dublin 1.

A MAN AND a woman have been arrested following a drugs seizure in Dublin.

Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs Unit, North Central Drugs Unit and Northern Divisional Task Force based in Santry carried out a number of searches in Dublin yesterday evening, 13 June.

Slaney House on Gill St, Dublin 1 was searched and gardaí discovered approximately 10 kilos of MEC (Methylethcathinone) with a street value of €350,000 (subject to analysis).

MEC is a synthetic stimulant.

A 44-year-old man and 42-year-old woman were arrested. They are being detained at Store St Garda station under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
