Eamon Gilmore criticises pace of public sector reforms

The Labour Party leader says that not enough has been done to improve the public sector since the Croke Park deal.

LABOUR PARTY LEADER Eamon Gilmore has criticised the pace at which public sector reform is taking place, saying greater strides should have taken place by this time.

Speaking on RTÉ’s Late Late Show on Friday, Gilmore said that the despite the Croke Park deal being in place since last summer little had been done to put it into action.

He said that it was important for Ireland’s financial problems be dealt with in a robust manner, and added that while the country needed to work with European partners we should not allow ourselves to be “pushed around”.
