Primary school evacuated in east Belfast after security alert

The PSNI has closed off part of Belvoir Drive in the east of the city this morning.

A PRIMARY SCHOOL in the east Belfast area has been evacuated after a security alert was raised this morning.

Police in Northern Ireland are attending the scene of the alert on Belvoir Drive which has been closed off between junctions of Dunseverick Avenue and Grays Park.

The PSNI says that diversions are in place and an ammunition technical officer (ATO) has been tasked to the scene.

The force adds that there are no further details at this point.
