Appeal for information after report of explosion outside house

No one was injured in the explosion and the PSNi says that a motive ‘remains under investigation’.

DETECTIVES IN NEWRY are appealing for information after an incident at a house last night.

The incident occurred in the Carnagat Road area of Newry, when shortly before midnight officers responded to a report of an explosion outside a house.

This morning, they said it is believed this may have been a pipe bomb type device. No one was injured in this incident.

A motive remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Newry on 0845 600 8000 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
