Four men die on roads over Bank Holiday weekend
The two teenage victims of yesterday’s crash in Enniscorthy are named, bringing to four the number of dead this weekend.

THE TWO VICTIMS of yesterday morning’s fatal road accident in Co Wexford have been named, as four people were confirmed dead on the country’s roads over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Robert Byrne, 18, and Kevin Rafter, 17, were killed when the car they were driving in collided with a pillar shortly after 3:30am yesterday morning at Collancarney near Ballindangan.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other fatality was confirmed a short time later at Wexford General Hospital.

At around the same time on Monday morning, a 41-year-old man was killed when his car overturned after leaving the road at Slievewaddra, Ballyduff in Co Kerry.

The man was removed to Tralee General Hospital; it is not thought that any other vehicles were involved.

On Saturday afternoon, a 25-year-old man was fatally injured when his motorcycle hit a barrier on the N8 outside Rathcormac in Co Cork. He died a short time later in Cork University Hospital.
