Full recount in Dún Laoghaire tomorrow morning at Labour's request
Labour’s Ivana Bacik and People Before Profit’s Richard Boyd-Barrett are neck and neck in Dún Laoghaire.
THE LABOUR PARTY have requested a recount in Dún Laoghaire with just over a hundred votes separating their candidate Ivana Bacik and Richard Boyd-Barrett from People Before Profit.
Party leader Eamon Gilmore has already been elected as has Fine Gael’s Sean Barrett. Mary Mitchell-O’Connor is expected to take the third seat for Fine Gael.
However there are just 157 votes between Bacik and Boyd-Barrett which has prompted Labour to ask for a full recount which will take place at 10.30am tomorrow morning.
Fianna Fáil’s Mary Hanafin also remains in the mix.
Earlier Boyd-Barrett told TheJournal.ie that a recount is unlikely to change anything there and he is hopeful of being elected.
