THREE GARDAÍ WERE injured when a patrol car was rammed after a multi-unit chase in Co Carlow last night.
The incident began shortly before midnight when a car failed to stop for gardaí at a checkpoint on the N80 in Clonegal.
A chase ensued across Co Carlow with a number or garda units pursuing the car before it rammed a patrol car on St. Joseph’s Road in Carlow town a short time later.
Three men all aged in their 20s were inside the car and they were all arrested at the scene.
Three gardaí were injured in the incident and and each were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny for treatment before later being discharged.
Gardaí also recovered what’s believed to be a small amount of cocaine with a technical examination of the scene currently underway.
It’s been confirmed this evening that all three men have been charged.
They will appear before Kilkenny District Court tomorrow morning.
