Gardaí launch investigation into Kerry fire caused by gas explosion

Gardaí said that the incident happened in a housing estate in Tralee on Wednesday at 5pm.

GARDAÍ HAVE LAUNCHED an investigation into a suspected gas explosion at a house in Kerry. 

One man was rescued from the blaze by firefighters and was taken to University Hospital Kerry with serious injuries. 

Sources have said that a video circulating on social media apparently showing the explosion was created using an artificial intelligence (AI) app.

Gardaí said that the incident happened in a housing estate in Tralee on Wednesday at 5pm. 

A spokeswoman said: “A technical examination of the scene is ongoing but at this time is not being treated as suspicious. No offences have been disclosed at this time.”

Firefighters used a drone to search for anyone else injured in the incident.
