'I'm back': Liz Truss launches new show that promises to 'take on the deep state'

The former UK prime minister is making her comeback three years after her shambolic premiership.

LIZ TRUSS HAS announced that she is launching her own podcast, which she says will “take on the deep state”.

The former UK prime minister is making her comeback three years after her shambolic premiership.

Truss lasted just seven weeks in office before she was ousted by her party in 2022.

Under her leadership, the pound fell to a 37-year low after her government mooted a massive borrowing package to fund tax cuts. They abandoned the plan and Truss resigned soon after, becoming the shortest-serving prime minister.

“I tried to save our country from the doom that it is now in,” she said in a trailer posted on social media last night.

“I was blamed for a market crisis that was not my fault.”

She said the “deep state and their allies in media and politics” tried to “destroy” her. This, she said, was because she challenged their failures.

The Liz Truss Show, which will air every Friday on the Just The News podcast network, promises to be the “home of counter-revolution”.

“I will take on the deep state. I will tell the truth about what is happening in our country and across the West,” she said.

The first three guests on the show are Matt Goodwin, an academic turned Reform supporter and GB News presenter, Alex Phillips, a TalkTV host and former Brexit Party MEP, and Peter McCormack, a podcaster.

The first episode will be released today at 6.30pm.

The show promises to deliver “unapologetic debate, fierce defence of western values, and straight-talking discussions about the future of Britain and the free world”.
