In pictures: 1916 Easter Rising remembered

A three-year-old girl wore her great-grandfather’s medals at today’s ceremony.

TAOISEACH ENDA KENNY and President Michael D Higgins were among those commemorating the sacrifices made in the 1916 Easter Rising today.

The ceremony took place at the military church on Arbour Hill in Dublin city, where the head of State laid a wreath to the victims of the conflict between Irish volunteers and the British Army.
