Gardaí hunt for second suspect who fled scene of foiled gangland hit

A man in his late 20s was arrested at the scene and a gun was recovered by gardaí.

GARDAÍ ARE LOOKING to trace a second suspect who fled the scene of a foiled gangland hit in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí intercepted a van in Inchicore after it failed to stop for gardaí from the Special Crime Taskforce. The van was later stopped and man in his late 20s was arrested.

A second suspect in another vehicle fled the scene after armed gardaí fired a number of shots at the car. Investigators are now trying to trace his whereabouts.

A gun and silencer were also recovered from the area yesterday.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information about it to contact them at Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01 666 7200.
