IF YOU WANT to introduce the little ones in your house to the magical world of reading, International Literature Festival Dublin is a good place to start.

The festival kicked off on May 17, but there’s still time to catch some of its most impressive events before it ends this Sunday May 26.

Below, we’ve rounded up the events for under 5s and their adults to enjoy as the festival comes to an end…

Party in the Park: A two-day event, Party in the Park takes place in St Patrick’s Park and features a great selection of family-friendly activities, including storytelling, workshops, arts and crafts and street theatre. There’s a jam-packed timetable on both days from 11am-5pm, so you might even want to make more than one trip.

Storytelling with Kate DiCamillo: Award-winning author Kate DiCamillo comes to Liberty Hall, with an event that’s sure to entertain attendees of all ages. You might recognise Kate as the moniker behind Because of Winn-Dixie, Flora & Ulysses and The Tale of Despereaux.

When: Saturday, May 25. Suitable for: 4 and up. Where: Liberty Hall, Eden Quay, Dublin 1. Costs: €8-€10 for adults, €6 for children. Find more information here.

The Magical World of Chris Haughton: Award-winning picture book maker Chris Haughton will bring his stories to the big screen at The Ark for this event – with hints being dropped about him sharing his new book with attendees months before its release.
