Interpol warning issued over plan to burn Qu'oran

INTERNATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY Interpol has issued a “global alert for increased terror threat” if a US group goes ahead with its plan to burn copies of the Qu’ran on Saturday. An American church pastor has stocked up on copies of the religious text so that he and his congregation can burn them to mark the anniversary of 9/11. The plan has provoked outrage from leaders in the US and around the world, including the UN. Interpol says there is a “strong likelihood that violent attacks on innocent people” would follow the book burning.
