Investigation launched after body of woman found next to lake

Police in Northern Ireland are appealing to the public for information.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland have launched an investigation after the body of a woman was discovered next to a lake.

Agnieszka Szypulska was found near to Binevenagh Lake in Co Derry, around a 30-minute drive away from Coleraine.

The 39-year-old’s body was discovered at 11.30am on Saturday morning by a member of the public.

“It is believed that Agnieszka was on holiday in Northern Ireland and may have been in the Articlave area on Thursday 12 May,” said PSNI Sergeant Stephen Taylor.

I am trying to trace anyone who may have spoken to or seen Agnieszka over the past few days.

Articlave is a village a short way outside of Coleraine.

Szypulska is a Canadian/ Polish national.

Anyone with any information about her disappearance is being asked to contact police on the non-emergency number of 101, or 04890 650222 from the Republic of Ireland.
